Easter is fast approaching! There are many ways to target speech and language goals while celebrating the season. During reading, children can practice speech sounds, describe pictures, and retell the story in their own words. Following the books, children and their families can engage in Easter-themed crafts, such as decorating Easter eggs. Crafts are a wonderful opportunity to address following directions and describing skills.
Below are suggestions of books appropriate for the Easter season. Happy reading!
“Marshmallow,” by Clare Turlay Newberry
“How to Catch the Easter Bunny,” by Adam Wallace
“Pete the Cat and the Easter Basket Bandit,” by James Dean & Kimberly Dean
