Frog Speech & Language Activities

Frog on a leaf

Spring is all about growth. The transformation from tadpole to frog makes frogs one of my favorite topics for spring speech and language activities. There are many ways to target speech and language goals while studying frogs. I love selecting fictional books from the local library, as well as studying the science of frogs. During reading, children can practice speech sounds, sequence events, and answer comprehension questions.

Below are suggestions of books about frogs. Happy reading!

  • “Jump, Frog, Jump,” by Robert Kalan

  • “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Frog,” by Lucille Colandro

  • “Dog on a Frog,” by Claire Gray and Kes Gray
