Halloween Book List for Speech & Language

Halloween is a fun tradition both inside and outside the speech room. There are many ways to incorporate speech and language goals while reading Halloween books. Practice speech sounds while reading aloud, story retell, sequencing, and describing pictures while reading.

Below is a list of Halloween books. Happy reading!

  • “The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything,” by Linda Williams

  • “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat,” by Lucille Colandro

  • “The Runaway Pumpkin”, by Kevin Lewis

  • “Room on the Broom,” by Julia Donaldson
