Mouth Breathing - Why Is Mouth Breathing a Red Flag?


Many children and adults will mouth breathe on occasion due to congestion. However, when it becomes a habit, it may be time to consult your doctor.

What are some of the reasons for mouth breathing?

-Congestion

-Enlarged tonsils and/or adenoids

What are some of the side effects of mouth breathing?

Constant mouth breathing can change a person’s face, as well as impact their teeth and gums. Mouth breathing also introduces more germs and bacteria into the body. The healthiest form of breathing is through the nose.


How can myo therapy help with mouth breathing?

After speaking with your doctor and addressing medical concerns, myo therapy can help to train the muscles of the face and mouth. Clients will learn the proper positioning of the tongue at rest.


What about nighttime mouth breathing?
