Summer days are the perfect time to curl up with a book outside. There are many ways to target speech and language goals while enjoying the summer season. I love selecting books from the local library for younger students. During reading, children can practice speech sounds, name actions in pictures, answer comprehension questions, and name story elements.
Below are suggestions of books about summer. Happy reading!
“Hot Dog,” by Doug Salati
“If You Spot a Shell,” by Aimée Sicuro
“There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Shell,” by Lucille Colandro
“Ladybug Girl at the Beach,” by David Soman and Jacky Davis
